Ricky Paugh

Founder & Group Managing Partner

Bio

Ricky is Founder and Managing Partner at 1440Sports, an international B2B sports partnerships firm focused on premium global properties in motorsport and golf. Prior to founding 1440, Ricky worked with billionaire Formula E Co-Founder, Enrique Banuelos, on the Series A and Series B capital rounds for Formula E and later advised Sir Richard Branson’s group on the commercial set-up and structure of their Virgin Formula E Racing Team.

Mr Paugh previously spent 10 years at the Corporate Executive Board (EXBD) as a Commercial Director; selling and advising CMOs, CIOs, and CISOs, at Global 5000 organisations on strategic best practices. During Mr Paugh’s tenure at CEB, the firm enjoyed 28 consecutive quarters of 25%+ growth, a revenue increase from $80M-$1BN, and was recently acquired by Gartner for $2.6BN.

Mr Paugh is an avid adventurer/ultra-marathoner and a member of the 4Deserts Club, which TIME Magazine ranked as the Hardest Endurance Event in the World, a 1000km ultra-marathon across the Sahara, Atacama, Gobi and Antarctic deserts. His 2010 efforts were chronicled in the highly acclaimed documentary, Desert Runners.

Mr Paugh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wake Forest University where he was a varsity member of back-to-back ACC Champion Baseball Teams, followed by three years as a professional baseball player and a year as Pitching Coach for the Cologne Cardinals in the German Bundesliga. Ricky serves as an Advisory Council Member to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to support the RPO Board and RPO Senior Management Team on strategic issues and initiatives. He resides in London with wife Jemma, daughter Olivia and son Oscar.

Samih Sawiris

Mr Sawiris is the founder and Chairman of Orascom Development Holding (ODH.SW), a Swiss- incorporated company listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX). Orascom Development is a leading developer of fully integrated destinations that include hotels, private villas and apartments, leisure facilities such as golf courses, marinas and supporting infrastructure.

Jeffrey Moorad

Jeff Moorad has had a distinguished career in player representation and sports management. Beginning in 1983, he specialised in Major League Baseball, representing notable athletes such as Will Clark, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, and Manny Ramirez. His firm, Steinberg & Moorad, negotiated over $3 billion in athlete contracts before being sold to Assante Corporation for $120 million in 1999. Recognised repeatedly by The Sporting News as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Sports, Moorad’s influence in the industry is significant.

In 2004, Moorad became an owner and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks, overseeing day-to-day operations and holding a 12% stake. He transitioned to the San Diego Padres in 2009, leading a group of investors to purchase the team for $500 million. Under his leadership, the Padres secured a lucrative $1.2 billion TV deal.

After stepping down as CEO of the Padres in 2012, Moorad co-founded Moorad Sports Partners, investing in sports-related businesses. He led PrimeSport Holdings as Chairman until its sale in 2017. In 2019, he co-founded MSP Sports Capital, acquiring stakes in international football clubs and McLaren Racing. In 2022, MSP acquired a majority stake in the X Games, with Tony Hawk joining as a brand steward. Moorad also serves as a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, leading the firm’s global sports practice.

Tyler Epp

Tyler Epp is the President of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, having been Senior VP, COO for almost a year prior. Formally the EVP of Business Operations for the Kansas City Chiefs, in his role with the club, Epp oversaw corporate partnership sales and service, local and regional media rights negotiation and implementation, premium sales and service, and ticket sales and operations. He was responsible for establishing the commercial direction for the franchise, including maintaining and establishing relationships with key members of the business community in Kansas City and throughout Chiefs Kingdom.
Enrique Banuelos

Mr Banuelos is a Spanish businessman and entrepreneur and one of twelve Spanish nationals to hold the position of being listed in Forbes World’s Billionaires ranking (#655 in 2010). As of 2013 he was the 1342nd richest person in the world. Mr Banuelos is best known for consolidating the three largest Brazilian real estate companies in an IPO under the name ASTROC in 2006 as well as being the original Founder and Chairman of Formula E. He currently has holdings in real estate, agriculture, and electric mobility.

One of the greatest race car drivers of all-time, Emerson Fittipaldi’s name is synonymous with motorsport. Since March 2024, Mr Huber took over the role as President of Marelli’s flagship business lighting. Prior to Marelli, Frank was the EVP of FORVIA’s Seating business group, leading the flagship division of the world’s 7th largest technological automotive supplier. Joining HELLA in 2014, he undertook various leadership roles in China, U.S./Mexico, and Germany, serving on the executive and management boards. Since the merger of Faurecia and HELLA in 2022, Frank has been committed to expanding FORVIA’s global impact, with 45,000 employees across 77 production sites.

Frank’s career began at Mercedes-AMG and Audi before moving to McKinsey & Company in 2009. He has held numerous leadership positions in the automotive industry across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North/South America. In 2011, Frank transitioned to the aerospace industry, managing Landing Gear Systems and North America operations for Liebherr Aerospace, before joining HELLA as an executive member.

Prior to this , Jen was Senior Director, Large Enterprise Sales, for Challenger Performance Optimization, Inc. (the company behind the best-selling book, The Challenger Sale). In her role, she is responsible for helping B2B leaders rewrite their commercial strategy in order to stop losing deals to status quo, price, or no-decision. Jen partners with B2B Sales, Marketing, and P&L leaders in order to implement and sustain the Challenger methodology across global teams in a variety of industries (manufacturing, tech, healthcare, financial services, professional services, and more).

Previously, Jen spent 12 years at Corporate Executive Board (CEB) and Gartner as a Business Development Director, selling and advising Chief Sales Officers, Chief Marketing Officers, Chief Strategy Officers, and Chief Communications Officers at Global 5000 organizations on functional best practice improvement. Justin Faiber

Justin Faiber is a seasoned marketing leader with over two decades of experience across diverse industries including food and beverage, media, technology, and sports & entertainment. Justin most recently served as the Global Category Development Officer for Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG / FMCG) at Spotify and was responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives and overseeing the development of the CPG / FMCG vertical across all global advertisers.

Prior to Spotify, Justin held pivotal roles at PepsiCo, where he spearheaded strategic marketing initiatives for growth brands across the beverage portfolio, managed customer and brand marketing for national and global foodservice accounts, and was the head of sports partnerships across action sports, motorsports, hockey, and esports. Prior to this Justin had progressive leadership roles across brand, consumer marketing, and media while at Turner Broadcasting, Genesco Sports, and NASCAR. Justin is an alumni of Northeastern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication as well as Business Administration while a member of their nationally ranked men’s rowing program and later the US Men’s National Team. 

Olaf Bongwald

Long-time automotive executive and industry veteran, Olaf Bongwald, has elected to join our Advisory Council. Olaf’s specialist knowledge and insight into the ever changing world of automotive and specifically, EVs, has been invaluable for us and our work in Formula E and Formula 1. His 25-year career has spanned leadership roles across major tier-1 suppliers such as Magna International AAM – American Axle & Manufacturing and most recently as Global CEO at Valmet Automotive where he helped to expand the business into battery assembly and partnership with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL).
